Until Next Time Europe . . .

It is definitely bittersweet . . . We have thoroughly enjoyed our year abroad and our extensive traveling (4 Continents and 15 Countries in 1 year) but we are also very excited to return home to family & friends!
Thanks to my amazing and supportive husband for making all of this happen and for all the people that supported us this year!  We can't thank you all enough and would not have been able to do it without you!
Farewell for now Europe!!!

A few shots of the 15 countries we visited!

Food & Beverages of Europe
Enjoying a bottle of Maastricht's Pinot Noir given to us by the neighbors & Last thing we did before I left Europe was picking up frites (fries) at the Frite stop off the highway on our way to Brussels airport ... it's surprising how many shops there are that only sell frites!

Trip 19: Barcelona, Spain

The last trip of our EU adventure was to Barcelona.  We met Jamie's brother and his fiance, Drew and Christine, there.  It was so great to spend time with them since they live in San Diego and we don't get to see them often.  We enjoyed numerous parts of the city including dinner and sangria on the beach, a bike tour of the city including the gothic quarter and a visit to the famous church, Sagrada Familia (designed by Gaudi).  We spent time on the beaches and in the Mediterranean, had a picnic dinner and outdoor movie night at the Castle (my favorite part of the trip!), toured the Barcelona Cathedral, visited Park Guell (also designed by Gaudi), spent time at La Boqueria (the market) and of course just spent time wandering the streets of Barcelona.  Thanks to Drew & Christine for meeting us ... it was great seeing you two and Congratulations on your engagement (they got engaged in San Sebastian, Spain a few days before meeting us)!!!  :)
